Aloha! part 2

Aloooha again!!

Sunrise walk 

Shall we continue our discussion of Hawaii? i think yes!!

So Thursday morning I woke up at like 4:30 or 5 am. (9:30 or 10 WI time) and i could NOT go back to sleep!! Gill was still sleeping, so Ken and I decided to go for a walk. Gill woke up before i left, but she just stayed and called her family and got ready for the day. Ken and i walked down to the beach and walked Waikiki as the sun started to come up. It was amazing! the sun was coming up over Diamond Head.  We all the surfers going to catch some waves before getting back to reality. we saw the tourists running on the beach.  we saw homeless people still snoozing in a park. On our walk back to the hotel we even found a Jamba Juice!

After we got ready for the day, We went to Pearl Harbor! well, we went... and got tickets. but we had to wait 4 hours before our tour started. so we went to Pearlridge mall for a little while. and we ate at chilis. then we went back to Pear Harbor and did the tour. it was seriously the greatest! Since Gill was a history major and she loves history, it was a neat experience for her to see this part of history. After Pearl Harbor we went back to the hotel and took a little break. we wanted to swim, but needed to rest at the same time. so we just went swimming at the hotel pool and hot tub. the pool was too cold. and the hot tub wasn't warm enough. so it was kind of a fail of a swim. but we sat in the hot tub and hung out anyways. we had some good laughs.  either before or after we went swimming.. Gill and I saw whales from our hotel window!!! After swimming. We went out in search of dinner. Instead we found Waikiki at sunset. <3 it was a beautiful sight to be seen. then we walked down waikiki strip looking for food. instead, gill found an actual license plate to take back to her mom. we were stoked. Looking for dinner was hard. because i'm so stinkin picky. but eventually found an L&L!! gill wasn't that thrilled. but i got my chicken katsu so we were good!

Friday we got up and packed and checked out of the hotel. We had some GPS miscommunications but eventually we made it to Iolani palace. We did the tour. it was so neat!! They've changed some things since i was last there, Gill was excited to see another part of Hawaiian/US history, and ken had never been there either. so we all learned and saw a lot. Then we headed to the north shore! Every day at bout 2 Gill and I would hit a wall and become absolutely exhausted. so we attempted to take a nap on the drive up. But once we were there i was far too excited. We went swimming at Sunset Beach. had a BLAST. After we showered and cleaned up we went to Haleiwa beach park to take some sunset pictures. Then we headed back to mililani to buy some food stuffs to send to my familia.

Saturday we went to the swap meet!! i was SOOOO excited!! and boy was it ever a successful trip! we got SO much stuff we wanted/needed. it was so fun to be back there. idk what a trip to HI would be without the swap meet. haha. After the swap meet Gill had her first experience with Jack in the Box. On our way home we stopped and saw the Dole plantation. Gill finally saw up close.. a pineapple bush! we all got pineapple soft serve.... sweetest ice cream EVER! When we got home we went back and swam at Sunset some more. We would've done Waimea or something, but it was just insanely busy. Sunset always has parking. and showers. For dinner gill and i made Hawaiian Haystacks. It was very exciting. Then we watched tv all evening. nice and relaxing.
