i found it incredibly interesting that this Angel Moroni has the gold plates in his hand. when so many other temples today don't. so i researched it. it was just about who was designing the statue at the time. Avard Fairbanks was the 3rd person to sculpt the statue, and his original was placed on the Washington DC temple. Seattle, Jordan River, and Mexico City temples all have a little bit smaller versions of that Moroni. Los Angeles temple also has a Moroni with the gold plates. but that was designed by a different person. (learn something new every day!)
