i just spent the last hour facebook stalking. and i found this woman. and i know her mom from BYUI (she worked at the bstore) and this girl had a couple friends in common with me (one from BYUI but like 3 from Hawaii) now i know this family did at one time live in Hawaii. and so i did a little more looking at her.
well i had originally thought wow, hmm married... a kid... and with looking at her... i guess i just thought she was older. turns out... we graduated the same year from high school. i'm not trying to insult her by saying she looks old. because she doesn't look that old. it just blew me away. plenty of my friends from HS are married, some with kids. but i guess i still dont realize that we're all as old as we are.
but the more i looked at this girls profile, i realized she never graduated from college. and it just made me think how lucky i am.
i have spent hours upon hours questioning myself and so many other things. trying to figure out what's wrong with me that i haven't had that blessing of finding the person i am going to spend eternity with, and start that journey.
But i have faith that that time will come. But in the mean time. i need to realize all the wonderful things i have been able to accomplish. i got a bachelors degree. i have traveled parts of the continent i may never get to see again. i have spent time with family members i know i wouldn't've done if i had been married.
i know everyones life plan is different. and we don't even know the plan, but the Lord does. i'm not trying to brag about what i have accomplished that other people haven't. because everyones life is different. I have a degree, but some people my age have served missions, others.. college just isn't for them. some are married. some are trying, but can't seem to get pregnant. we all have our own struggles and trials.
I have a quote that runs through my head quite often, it's from the song Beautiful Boy, written by John Lennon. "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans"
I can't always be focused on what i haven't been able to accomplish. I need to focus on what i am and can do, and go with it. i need to stop making other plans and focus on the life that is happening.
"Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans"
