so tonight for FHE we played Battle of the Sexes. it was so fun!! we had trivia questions. we had minute to win it challenges. the girls started out strong, then the guys caught up and took the lead. BUT in what could be considered PKs after OT, the girls won!!! we had some INSANE trivia questions. we definitely felt like we had the tough questions and they had the easy ones. but kinda. there were a lot of questions we got, that the guys couldn't even answer. so it was frustrating. but oh wells. one thing i did learn, was that there's still a lot i don't know bout cars. ad i hope i can get up to speed. i mean. questions like: 'at 1.7 million dollars, what car is the most expensive street legal car?' WE HAVE NO IDEA. or how many pistons does a certain engine have? turns out: it didn't have ANY. idk. something about a mazda? psh. or what does the carborator do? or what does the W in 10W40 stand for? heck if we know!! and then we had questions that some people thought they knew the answers to. and others were like 'no way!' and blah blah. like what country did the Swiss Army Knife originate in? according to Wikipedia... yes, the answer really is Switzerland. it's not 'too obvious' lol
there was a 'celebrity gossip' challenge that i was a part of. we had 10 or 12 pictures of male celebrities. and we had to write down their first AND last names. there were people we weren't sure about, and others we knew hands down. we actually got them ALL right. Ellie mis-heard one of the names and wrote a wrong first name. but it's okay, she doesn't know NBA players, and she's super sick. i forgive you ellie! 'specially since we still won the challenge. hands down.
so for the whole game the girls had to sit on one side and the guys sat on the other. then we had ice cream and the guys (since they lost) had to serve us ice cream. and then we all just stayed on our divided side. so all the girls sat there talkin about whatever, i went over and joined the guys circle (rebellious, i know!) and talked cars and sports with them. Kyle and i had a debate about whether or not the picture stuff was fair. because they were big name athletes that are always on sportscenter and stuff. and i immediately said 'yeah but girls don't watch sportscenter! or car shows and stuff' and he turns it around back on me 'YOU watch sportscenter!' and i just laughed. OBVIOUSLY, i am not the normal girl! i had a 20 minute talk about Top Gear today, i told the guys at FHE about it and they couldn't believe i watched it either! how many times must i think 'i'm not the normal girl!!' what's wrong with me!? but there's nothing wrong with me! it just means i'm gonna make some guy very lucky, cuz it's that much more that we have in common. unless guys only want girls that like girly stuff. then i'm kinda screwed. i mean, i like shopping, crafting, wearing makeup, etc. i'm not too un-girly... right!? hahahaha yes i'm overthinking this way too much. but not really, i'm just rambling.
ellie and i went to a game last night. there were only 3 people there from our ward, the other 25 people were from the Farmington singles ward it was a BLAST! but i was wearing... per usual... socks that didn't match. this guy came up and said 'you're socks don't match' and just kinda looked at me. and i explained that they did in fact match. the color of the squirrles on my left sock was the exact same color as the background on the camera socks on the right foot. and the white ring on the cameras matched my white shirt. so it all matched. the guys was like 'yeah i see that, but they still dont match' and i was like 'yeah, i dont really care if my socks match.' i just laughed but kyle had overheard the convo and added 'that's exactly it, you dont care what other people think' and that was it! i know that I'VE excepted myself, but i didn't know if other people could tell that i'd accepted myself. you know what i mean? with some people, it's really obvious that they care a lot about what other people think. and some people, you can tell they really don't. internally, i haven't cared for a long time. but i couldn't tell what other people thought. it's nice to know at least kyle knows i dont care what people think. i hope other people see it too! :-)
remember like, 10 years ago when i said my radio broke? (really just a month) yeah. well it still isn't fixed. BUT there's been a new development! last night the speakers were crackling! not loud, and not about music (and when i turned the radio on there was still no sound) but there is something. it was while i was driving, whenever i'd go over a bump or something, there would be crackles so kyle now thinks it's something to do with the speakers and whether or not they are grounded. dun dun dun! we'll have to find out!
alright. since i know one is still reading i dont really have to say it. but i will anyways. good night world!
