hey-o!!
today has been a seriously awesome day!!
i love sundays. a. lot.
i got an extra hour of...... not sleep. but it's okay. i got an extra hour of the sabbath! so great! i straightened my hair this morning. i accidentally saved Carol and Liz from showing up to church an hour early. i went downstairs for a minute and they were standing in the kitchen about to leave. Carol said 'you aren't coming to church with us?' and i responded 'yes, in an hour. ohhh it's daylight savings!' haha it was funny.
church was great! i love testimony meetings. sunday school and relief society were pretty awesome as well. i love church. i really do. i had a meeting after church for my calling. i'm way excited for it. THEN i went to Choir. i know, been a long time. but i figured i should go. it'll give me another chance to meet people. and i love music. and it will be a good experience. Then my home teachers came over. we talked about Elder Arderns talk. boy did i have a lot to say. it was an awesome discussion. i blew half their lesson when i said 'yeah, i deactivated my facebook because of his talk' haha but at least i had a lot to say about it!
p.s. my testimony of fasting for a purpose was definitely strengthened. I woke up. prayed about what i wanted to fast about, and i didn't feel hungry once! everytime i thought 'woah, i'm not hungry' i'd think about what i was fasting for, and it was just awesome. testimony = strengthened. <3
that was probably one of the greatest dinners i've had here. waffles. hash browns. scrambles eggs. homemade applesauce. oven baked bacon. and cinnamon rolls. delish!!
and THEN we had a CES Fireside. President Packer. spoke about mercy vs. justice, repentance, and just a ton of great stuff. Liz and i went with Ellie, Kat, and her sister Brianne. they are so fun! we had a BLAST! those girls crack me up. i'm so SO glad i have friends. it's such a blessing in my life. i feel like i'm becoming my old self again.
after the fireside we went over to the house of some people in our ward and watched the RSL game. it was awesome! except that we lost. but it was SO funny. watching these girls complain. 'stop messing with the ball and just shoot' 'stop passing the ball to each other and just shoot' etc. it was kinda irritating. but mostly funny. only irritating because i'm used to watching soccer with mom and dad. that's pretty silent, except for intelligent comments about the game. i was just getting frustrated because they don't understand how the game works. that passing is important. that they can't just shoot, they need to control. etc. but it was okay. it was fun. then we started a movie.
okay. fyi. i'm officially converted to LuvSacs. they are AMAZING. grant and i sat in like the hugest one tonight! it was SO comfy! i WILL be buying one on day.
i felt so bad i couldn't talk to my sister when she called. Lynn, i still love you! i'm sorry i was busy. i really do want to talk to you!!
umm can i just say w00t to the Packers! 8-0!! keep it up guys! these days i'm ultra proud to say i'm from WI. i'm always proud. but it's nice to be supporting a winning team.
hey hey guess what! i do NOT have a headache today! i don't know if it's because i wore my splint last night, and am wearing it again tonight, or what. but i'm so so happy.
i really did love today. it reminds of sundays at school. full of church, meetings, good food, and tons of friends. i've been laying here pintresting thinking 'oo i could make that tomorrow after church' guess what!? tomorrow is MONDAY! hahahaha my sunday went by so SO fast but with so much happiness and joy that i dont even mind! today was a blessing. and i can't wait for these kinds of days to continue.
i had a conversation with Ferg last night. yep, we're texting again. it's pretty awesome. He is one of the greatest guys i know. besides my brothers and dad of course. lol. and we were talking about headaches. since i have so many. he has headaches every day! poor guy wakes up with a tension headache every day because of scar tissue on the membrane of his brain. can you imagine?! 7 years of daily tension headaches?! unbelievable. ANYways. we started talking about optimism. and he mentioned how he knows i'm optimistic, i must be optimistic if i came all the way to utah, etc. my response: "i definitely have my down moments, but i figure life is gonna be rough whether you're happy or mad about it, so you may as well try and enjoy it" it was a actually an ah-ha moment for me. i know happiness is a choice a lot of the time. (sometimes it's not, it's chemical and yada yada) and i'm proud to be seen as an optimistic person. i found this pin that works perfect with that convo. AND i love that lynn commented on it. and said "i love it when i see a pin, think of you, and then look up and see that YOU pinned it!" it makes me happy to see that people see things like this and think of me. because that's the person i really am trying to be!
so i'll leave you with this. something to think about.
you just gotta get there.
