an update. followed by a rant.

it has been a pretty awesome week guys. busy. busy, but great.

tony has been staying with us since he didn't have a working furnace. it has been really fun to see him more this week. work has been picking up. have i said that in previous posts? because it definitely has. and i'm okay with it. it's just.. busy.



tonight at group we were talking about feelings. and the best description for my day: "overwhelmed"

i woke up early because my clients mom texted saying she couldn't come to group. i got ready. i was about to leave for work when i found out tony was sick. i had to run around getting medicine and stuff for him. so i was late for work. i found out at work that my clients mom decided to let her come to group. so then i had to stress about how to get tony to work. and still pick up my client from school. and i was already late to school, so i didn't want to leave early too. plus i was in charge of group tonight, so my anxiety was kicking in about that. BUT i got through today. totally great. no stress needed. i sacrificed my meals until 7:30 tonight, but it's okay... i still made it through.

yesterday i got to talk to Gilly! that was so AWESOME! it's been so long since i'd talked to her. it was so fun. we had a lot of catching up to do. i miss her so SO much.



alright. i'm gonna get back to my Harry Potter #7 pt 2. love this movie.

and of course, once people bring up one thing about the BYU-I dress/honor code... the bashing begins. ranting about overalls, flip flops, shorts, sweat pants, etc.

believe it or not, even people that GO to that school complain about all that stuff. well, some of them do.

i had to responses to everyone at school that would complain about such things:

1:

that picture describes it almost better than i can. followed by this picture:

who would even WANT to wear shorts and flip flops when it's barely above freezing for that 85% of the year?!

2. sure, you can't wear sweat pants, pajamas (yes you can wear sweat shirts). but a) those are dedicated buildings. i'd rather not wear that casual wear in there anyways. b) how many people going to that school to get a degree and get a job will be able to wear sweat pants or pajamas to their place of employment? not a whole lot. BYU-I feels that college is a preparation for the rest of your life. why let you sluff off and get away with that, when you'll have to change your entire wardrobe later on anyways? may as well get used to it now!

3. to anyone who actually goes to BYU-I and complains.... YOU signed the Honor Code. YOU chose to attend BYU-I. no one is forcing you to be there. if you don't like the honor code... MOVE. for people who say "BYU isn't as strict.. blah blah"... then MOVE to BYU!

While people today are worried about Christmas presents and skinny jeans, 70 years ago the Attack on Pearl Harbor was influencing people all over the world. May we take a moment today to be grateful for those that served in WW2.


talk about a slap in the face!
